The PFT was specifically designed to test - --To test the strength

-Marines younger than 46 years of age who are recommended - --Recommended by a healthcare
practitioner based on medical condition and approved by the CO can also take the rowing event.

-PFT Monitor responsibilities (Monitor Duties) - -Oversee the administering of the PFT test

Perform the duties of:
-Supervise events
-Observe Performance
-Advise participants
-Report and document results

-Preparing the PFT Monitor - --Selecting and setting up the areas for each event
-Mitigating risk associated with each event using risk management
-Selecting and training assistant monitors as needed

-Ensuring participants are in proper uniform
-Guiding participants during events
-Instructing Marines as to proper form

, -Self-Validation Risk Factor Worksheet - -The purpose of this worksheet is to determine and
mitigate any health risk or injury for Marines over 45 years of age.

-PFT MCO - -MCO 6100.13A PFT/CFT

-Break time between events - -Breaks between each event must be at least 5 minutes in duration.

-PFT consideration indoor or outdoor - -The PFT can be conducted indoors or outdoors, but it is
recommended the 3 mile run be conducted outdoors.

-PFT common equipment - --A stopwatch is required for all push-ups, abdominal crunch, and 3
mile run

The pull-up is scored based on number of repetitions

-Risk management (PHA) - --All marines must have a current periodic health assessment (PHA)
prior to participating in the PFT.

-Preventing Common bodily injuries (intrinsic risk factors) - --Being aware of bodily injury
causes
-Having the required corpsman and safety vehicle available during the enter PFT

-Primary monitor responsibilities - --Observing marines as they perform, providing guidance,
and correction.

-Recording repetitions, based on a solid understanding of proper form for each exercise.

-Knowing all marine corps rules and standards per MCO 6100.13A

-Risk factors for the pull-up - -Pull up exercises may cause:

Neck
back
elbow
and shoulder strains

The Marines rotator cuff muscles can also be affected by strain

-The abdominal crunch event - -May be conducted indoors or outdoors.

It requires a flat surface free of hazards and debris.

-During the abdominal crunch you will perform these tasks: - --Call out time passed, in intervals
-Check each Marine for proper form, to ensure an accurate count, and to prevent injury.
-Guide and correct marines where needed
