half of the so-called Golden Era of hip-hop.
B. However, not everything was so golden when the feud between the East Coast
and West Coast became an apparent issue.
II. Brief History of East Coast v. West Coast
A. Early 1990’s: west coast started to become the epicenter of rap music

III. Difference Between East Coast and West Coast Music
A. West Coast
● Originated from the West Coast of U.S. and mostly features funk samples

B. East Coast
● Originated from East Coast of the U.S. and mostly features jazz samples
● Use of “aggressive” and “hyper-tense” sound
