Intercultural Communication
COMM 335
Professor Diane Carter

Instructions:
Create a 400 to 800-word blog post in which you address the following:
1. What is the dominant worldview in the culture you are studying? Is the dominant
worldview atheistic, spiritualistic, or religious in nature? Describe key aspects of this
worldview such as its core assumptions, cultural expressions, ethics, and ideas about
death, and then note how these are reflected in common cultural practices. Please cite
two or three references (in addition to the text) to support your claims.
2. Is this worldview fairly homogeneous (shared by most members of the culture), or
are other worldviews prominent, as well? Does the cultural group you are studying
appear to promote religious tolerance, encouraging members to embrace religious
beliefs that may differ from their own, or does there appear to be some level of
conflict between those who adhere to the dominant worldview and others in the
culture?
Posts can be written pieces, podcasts, video (vlog) posts, or any combination of the three.
Remember, for full points on this and all subsequent blog posts, you must provide hyperlinks to
the sources you used to support your claims.
