- Each side presents its demands , after deliberation their is a reduction in
demands

observing other characteristics not the ones they are making comments
upon.

- Keeps parties at the bargaining table , avoiding lengthy stalemates

- Voluntary arbitration
- both parties agree to the arbitration process. After the decision
of the arbitrator is binding
