selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonists have the least amount of side effects ondansetron
and dolasetron mesylate. Dolasetron mesylate is used to prevent nausea and vomiting
in chemo patients. So this drug is given about one hour prior to chemo.


Remember with ondansetron it's not given in children under the age of four( but
see mayo clinic for contradicting information on this)

For prevention of moderate nausea and vomiting after treatment with cancer

hours after the first dose. Then, the dose is 8 mg every 12 hours for 1 to 2 days.

treatment. The 4-mg dose is taken again 4 and 8 hours after the first dose. Then,
the dose is 4 mg every 8 hours for 1 to 2 days.

your doctor.
