Explain the program for which you enlisted
Submarines and aircraft carriers rely on nuclear reactors and their operators to keep
them running. They perform the complex technical functions that are at the core of sub
and carrier capabilities. This involves everything from operating nuclear propulsion plant
machinery to controlling auxiliary equipment that supports Naval reactors to
maintaining various electronic, propulsion and weapons systems.
Training for NF's includes 6 (EM(Electrician's Mate) and ET (Electronics Technician)) or 3
(MM(Machinist's Mate)) months at NF "A" school in Charleston, SC. Then Naval Nuclear
Power School in Charleston, SC for 6 months. Then Nuclear Power Training Unit
(Prototype School) in either Ballston Spa, NY or Charleston, SC for 6 months. Then you
receive your assignment, however select MM's go to Engineering Lab Tech School or
Nuclear Welder's School Program first.

2. Be honest and forthcoming when providing information for your enlistment
application
3. Notify your recruiter of any changes in your status to include education, health, police
