CAREGIVER INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS
What is your experience as a caregiver with children? - Answer-I worked with children
for one and a half years. I worked with them at an aftercare program, as well as during
summer camp. I would often watch over the children, making sure that they are doing
well and that they do not have any kind of issue bothering them. Aside from playing with
them and helping them out with their studies, I also cleaned their wounds occasionally
as well as comforted them when the time was needed.

How do you handle patients with dementia? Do you have a unique plan? - Answer-My
grandfather had Alzheimer’s. caring for him was quite difficult at times. despite that, i
knew him well as a person. i would know that he doesn't remember half the things I tell
him and will be impatient with me - I can quickly formulate a care plan in my head and
let him take the lead.

Have you ever come across a situation where a patient with dementia tested your
patience? - Answer-working along with my grandfather who had Alzheimer’s wasn't the
easiest. there were instances where he refused to take his medication. I would often
compromise with him, promising to give him a Favorite treat of his if he took the
medication

What are the typical skills necessary to perform a caregiver job? - Answer-Caregivers
need to be patient, empathetic, and extremely dedicated to their work. If you are doing it
for the money, you will never be able to get it right. You also have to be very organized
so that you can keep the patients' timetables in check.

Do you believe that caregivers need medical training? - Answer-Yes, I do. Medical
training is essential in a caregiver's job. Whether you are handling children, adults, or
the elderly, you may come across emergencies. With little medical training, you can
save someone's life.

What are your key strengths? - Answer-Compassion and actively listening are my major
strengths. I feel that I am especially very good at listening to others with a kind ear, as
told from former coworkers, friends, family, and even the children I have worked with. I
always try to find solutions and offer help in any form

How do you make things better for the people you are providing care to? - Answer-I
make sure that I am supportive and provide companionship as best as I can.
Additionally, I make sure that they are both emotionally and physically comfortable at all
times.

How do you handle medical emergency? - Answer-I have trained in CPR
