Mask or cannula safety - ANSWER --ensure straps arent too tight
-remove straps 2-3/day to wash, dry, and stimulate skin.
-pad any pressure points and observe the tops of ears for skin impairment.
Oral and nasal mucous membranes safety - ANSWER --assess membranes two or three times a day.
-use water-based gel on lips on nasal mucosa.
-provide frequent oral hygiene.
-humidification via humidifier or nebulizing device.
