STATE FARM INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND
ANSWERS
Tell me about yourself: ANSWER My name is Brandon Manuel. I recently
graduated from Valdosta State University and am currently a graduate student at
Clayton State University studying Business Administration with a focus on Digital
Marketing. I am a dependable professional eager to find a position where I can
exceed expectations in a team environment. I'm looking forward to increasing my
present skill set while also learning, growing, and contributing to a fantastic
organization that shares my values.
Describe your experience with a challenging customer and how you handled it.
While working at JCPenny, I received a call from a customer who was upset
because the Diamond Pearl earrings she intended to purchase were out of stock. I
was the customer service representative who handled the hotline inquiries. I
understood the customer's frustration and apologized for the inconvenience. I
looked up inventory in the company database. I informed the consumer that her
selected earrings will be out of stock for another two weeks. So I suggested two
possible solutions. My first suggestion was that we send a similar pair of earrings
the following day. The second answer was to plan a delivery within two weeks with
his chosen Diamond pearl earrings, as well as jewelry cleaning and extra back parts
for the earrings at no cost for the inconvenience. The customer loved having an
option, and she chose to wait an additional two weeks for her favorite earrings. The
earrings and additional things were delivered within two weeks, and she gave us a
five-star rating for service on her post-purchase customer satisfaction survey.
Tell me about a time you were confronted with conflicting priorities and how you
handled it. For me, continual communication is the key to dealing with competing
priorities. Updating my bosses on my progress and when I expect to complete
assignments demonstrates that I am following through. This opens the option to
compromise if I realize I won't be finished on time. Finals week was a difficult time
in my freshman year of college. I had numerous papers and a group project to
finish. Regularly updating my partners allowed us to agree on dates that worked for
everyone's schedules. We even completed everything a day before the deadline and
obtained a respectable grade for our hard effort.
