1) Learner Expectations
a) To foster learner expectations in a culturally responsive
environment, I will set clear, high, and equitable
expectations for all students, incorporating their personal
backgrounds into the learning goals. This means recognizing
diverse learning styles and perspectives while ensuring that
all students are held to the same rigorous standards. I will
also use culturally relevant materials and examples to make
learning objectives more relatable. According to Zaretta
Hammond in "Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain,"
setting high expectations and providing the necessary
support tailored to diverse backgrounds helps students reach
their potential and makes learning more engaging and

2) Emotional Safety
a) I will promote emotional safety by creating an environment
where students feel comfortable expressing themselves
without fear of judgment or ridicule. This involves using
inclusive language, validating diverse cultural expressions,

will also encourage open dialogue and reflection to help
students understand and manage their emotions effectively;
