This is an overview and a quote analysis of the poem 'The soldier' by Rupert Brooke. It is included in the poetry anthology for GCSE English Literature if you are doing the exam of WJEC Eduqas. It was made by me for the 2019 GCSE exams which I have just completed and of which I recieved a Grade 9 for this subject. The document shows a clear and concise overview and analysis of the poem. It includes notes on: the poet context, the rhyme scheme, the tone/mood of the poem, the themes of the poem and analysis of significant quotes to memorise for the exam which includes poetry terminology and thoughts on the quotes. If used well then it will aid your revision to make it more easier and focused and hopefully if you purchase the other poem analysis' a grade 9 will be imminent.

 This poem was used for propaganda.
 Brooke was a celebrity and was very privileged.
 Was called ‘the most handsome man’ of his time.
 He never actually fought in the war.
 He died of the result of an infected mosquito bite.
