 Students who are not allowed to take part in this examination will have their examination
declared invalid.
 Mobile telephones are not allowed to be taken into the examination room.
 The examination, the scrap paper given for writing rough drafts, and the ITS course
evaluation forms must be handed in to the invigilator after the examination has been
administered. Your examination can be declared invalid if you do not adhere to these
instructions.
 For each exam students are only allowed to go once to the restroom, and if a visit is paid
to the restroom, this will be registered.

Exam Instructions:
Allowed in the exam are the following aids:
 a simple, non-programmable calculator (e.g. TI-83 calculators are not allowed)
 a dictionary (English-to-English and/or YourLanguage-to-English and/or English-to-
YourLanguage)
 a copy of The Practice of Social Research, 11th edition, 12th edition or 13th edition by Earl
Babbie. The text book may contain written remarks, bookmarks or marked passages, but
no additional loose papers (e.g. no post-its etc.), answers to workbook exercises or the
trial exam.

 Only answers provided in the table on the third page of this exam will be graded.
Additional assumptions, comments etc. can be put near the questions and will be taken
into account in cases of doubt. Answers on scrap paper are not graded!
 Use either a black or a blue pen.
 For all questions, exactly one answer is correct. Indicating more than one answer as
correct leads to the question been assessed as wrong.

Results/Post-examination Perusal:
 The exam results will be announced on Blackboard no later than 20/11/2013.
 The post-examination perusal is going to take place on 21/11/2013. Further information will
be announced on Blackboard.
