Significant Figure rules - ANS-Non-zero digs = SIG
-Zeroes b/w non-zero digits = SIG
-Zeroes to the right of decimal = SIG
-Mult/div the # is no greater than the factor with the smallest amount of digits
-Add/sub the answer has no more than the # with fewest decimal places
scalar - ANSa mathematical quantity that has a magnitude only (a single #)
Ex: mass (50 kg)
length (100 cm)
power (200 watts)
temperature (20 deg. C)
speed (30 mi/h)
time (60s)
vector - ANSa mathematical quantity that has both magnitude and direction
Ex: velocity (20 m/s East)
displacement (50m North)
acceleration (10 m/s^2 West)
weight (100 lbs. down)
displacement - ANSa change in position of an object
average velocity - ANSdelta X (distance) / delta T (time)
change in distance over the change in time
Ex: t(25s) = 8.5m / t(30s) = 16m --->
25s - 30s / 8.5m - 16m = 0.667
instantaneous velocity - ANSDraw tangent line
find slope (rise/run) from tangent by triangle
acceleration - ANSdelta V / delta T OR Vf - Vi / T
