common core course at their duty station. Awarded by supervisor and Unit Training

Journeyman - ANS-5-skill level, AFSC 3E551. Awarded after completion of CE 5-level
Common Core Concepts CBT, 5-level CDC, all 5-level core/diamond/duty tasks, and 12
months OJT (9 months if retraining). Job positions such as draftsman, surveyor, and
GIS technician.
Craftsman - ANS-7-skill level, AFSC 3E571. Must be at least a SSgt. Awarded after
completion of CE 7-level Common Core Concepts CBT, 7-level course at FLW, all
7-level core/diamond/duty tasks, and 12 months OJT (6 months if retraining). Job
positions such as NCOIC, construction inspector, and project manager.
Superintendent - ANS-9-skill level, AFSC 3E591. Must be at least a SMSgt. Awarded
after completion of CE Superintendent Course Air Force Institute of Technology WMGT
570. Mandatory for active and Reserves. Job positions such as flight chief, section
chief, MILCON
