Angina pectoris and its types, clinical features, investigations and treatment handwritten notes
Angina pectoris is a medical condition characterized by chest pain or discomfort that occurs when the heart muscle doesn't receive enough oxygen-rich blood. It's typically caused by narrowing of the coronary arteries due to atherosclerosis (buildup of plaque), restricting blood flow to the heart. Symptoms often include a squeezing or pressure-like pain in the chest, which may radiate to the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw, or back. Angina can be triggered by physical exertion, emotional stress, cold weather, or heavy meals. It's a warning sign of underlying heart disease and should be evaluated promptly by a healthcare provider.
