o Heart Rate:
▪ The heart rate is generally expressed as the
amount/number of beats per minute, which is
monitored through one’s pulse. The heart rate is
just based on the number of times the ventricles
within the lower chamber of the heart contract. It
also has an apex beat, which ultimately is the
pulse felt when the point of maximum impulse felt.
Furthermore, the heart rate has lubb-bi and
tricuspid valves that shut close as well as the dub-
semi lunar valves. Lastly, a heart rate can be
measured by using a stethoscope.
o Pulse Rate:
▪ The pulse rate is the amount of heart beats per
minute. This is usually, measured in order to
determine/evaluate one’s health. When taking a
pulse reading, it is usually measured towards
arteries that are closer to the skin, since it would
be easier to feel a beat/pulse. Usually, the pulse
rate will increase when there is any pressure, or
such exerted on an artery wall, as the pressure will
cause it to simply expand.
o Blood Pressure:
▪ Within the arteries, blood is under pressure so that
it is able to travel through whole body, since the
arteries carry blood away from the heart.
Furthermore, the pressure is caused due to the
contractions of the heart muscles, however, the
pressure allows the blood to reach all the parts of
the body. When measuring blood pressure, there
are two measurements commonly used, which are
systolic and diastolic. Systolic is the higher
measurement when the heart beats, as the
ventricles contract and blood is pushed out of the
