Wat is gedrag?
• Alles wat een persoon zegt of doet, bijv. een activiteit, actie, prestatie, reactie
of respons. Elke observeerbare en meetbare activiteit van een organisme:
spier-, klier- of elektrische activiteit.
• Gedrag is niet altijd overt/observeerbaar!
- Bijvoorbeeld een tiener die piekert

Overt vs. covert
• Overt: wat er in de buitenkant afspeelt, woede en schreeuwen
- Goed observeerbaar en meetbaar
• Covert: wat er in de binnenwereld afspeelt, gedachten en fantasie
- Niet goed observeerbaar
- Wel meetbaar (indirect via hersenscans of via gevolgen door bijv.
veranderingen in cortisol, direct via noteren in dagboek of mood tracker)
