Without GP’s it would be very difficult to find the correct referrals to meet individual needs and GPs
are often used to start of a process of treatment as they can identify and diagnose problems,
therefor we need GPs in order to progress to further checks, proper treatment plans that may be
provided by a hospital or referrals to other clinics, mental health services etc. (play therapists for
example come into our setting to work with children with individual needs that would of originally
started of with a visit to the GP, then a mental health specialist and then play therapist as the child
has ADHD.)

Baby clinics- they give various vaccines throughout the early stages of children’s lives from 0-5. The
role of baby clinic workers can help support mums with various aspects of young children and baby’s
life.

*Draw on how parents often have lots of questions and worries when babies are at a young age
especially first time mums, a lot of problems and individual needs.
