Over time, those that became more proficient at their job became the to-go person on the unit for help. Eventually, these nurses are thrown into higher degrees of responsibility and position, whether that be as a preceptor or a supervisory role. Now, we progress into the graduate level education, we will be expected these available technological resources to communicate with other disciplines, manage education wisely and help reduce the chance of or prevent medical mishaps. It’s interesting in that already, just reading through the chapters, I’ve already thought of an idea (albeit an invention if not already out there) that can further help reduce errors.
