How do Edward Thomas and Alun Lewis write about the relationship between humans and specific places? Poetry comparison WJEC model essay.
Analysing 2 poems from each set text and considering context, this essay discusses the relationships between people and place in Thomas and Lewis poetry. It earned 74/80 marks. The document also contains a mark scheme and my teacher's feedback. The poems I particularly analyse are The Rhondda in comparison with Adlestrop and The Defeated: For Wales in comparison with The Manor Farm. (Idealised England and beautiful nature vs industrial Wales and unglamorous communities.) I went on to achieve full UMS and an A* in my English exams.
