The Personal Protective Equipment Regulations of 1992 (PPER) ensures all employees working in an
environment that requires PPE are provided PPE free of charge where the environment has health and safety
risks that “cannot be adequately controlled in other ways.” This regulation is to be enforced by employers for
employees who work in dangerous environments requiring the use of PPE.
