Introduction
Over the last few decades or so, the positive phenomenon concept’s research has gained
momentum after being neglected in most of organizational studies (Vasconcelos, 2018). The
research on positive phenomenon in organizational studies has been highly linked to the
understanding of every employee’s organizational life. According to Vasconcelos (2018),
positive organizational scholarship is one of the ways in which researchers have been using to
understand organizational life from the positive lenses and perspectives. The positive
organizational scholarship allows a researcher to understand the organizational dynamics and
systems as well as values from a positive perspective (Cameron & Spreitzer, 2011). The positive
organizational scholarship does not, however, disdain the negative perspectives considering that
the negatives and the positives are always closely linked to one another. This school of thought
premises that normal human beings will always have an intrinsic motivation to create self-
realization to improve productivity. “Positive organizational scholarship (POS) is concerned
primarily with the study of especially positive outcomes, processes, and attributes of
organizations and their members,” according to Donaldson and Ko (2010). POS allows industrial
researchers to identify what drives positive behaviors within an organizations so that the
organization can improve its productivity in general. According to Souders (2020), positive
organizational psychology allows understand how the identities of every employee is defined.
The positive organizational scholarship is one of the ways in which individual firms can help to
enhance the wellbeing of their employees by the identification of opportunities for the workers to
contribute, interact, and grow. The positive organizational scholarship allows a company to
create and maintain optimal workplace environments. The positive organizational scholarships
involves a number of domains with one of them being motivation.
