What do you feel is the most important statement in the HOSA creed and why?
To this end, I dedicate my training, my skills and myself to serve others through Health
Occupations Students of America, because it incorporates everything I personally believe in such as
the health care profession, education, myself, and in each and every individual
If someone at school asked you "what is HOSA" how would you respond?
HOSA is an extracurricular club for those who are looking for valuable skills not only in the field of
science, but for life as well. HOSA is an organization for all types of people and is a place to meet new
people interested in the same potential career field as you. Joining HOSA will make your High School
experience more worth while and rewarding as you will see yourself grow to love it!
What were the six founding charter states in national HOSA?
Alabama, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Texas, North Carolina, and New Mexico
What leadership qualities promote success?
-empathy for others
-attentive listening skills
-assertiveness
-poised in actions
-eloquence when addressing anyone
What motivated you to run for office?
The pride I take in my school's HOSA as well as for Area 2 HOSA, my ambitious nature and curiosity,
and the more I looked into what area officers do I became increasingly intrigued. As well as seeing
past area officers and envying to be like them.
What do you plan to contribute or accomplish if elected to serve?
I plan to for HOSA area 2 to grow as a contributor to the state of Texas, and do a better job in serving
the charities that we sponsor, for example this year with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society I would
work to make every school in our area dedicated in raising funds and awareness by sending them
videos to show their schools, and possibly enacting some sort of competition to get them excited.
Also, unity among our area is key in making it run smoothly so I would work to have socializing events
for our chapter members to get revved up for competition.
What are your career goals? How will you achieve these goals?
I plan on being a pediatrician and I will major in Bio with a minor in political sciences, continue with
my community service, advanced classes etc.
What have you enjoyed studying the most in health science and why?
I have enjoyed studying transcultural health care the most in health science because I absolutely love
how universal yet diversified health care is and I enjoy learning about the diversity within the Health
care field.
