What do you think of on the way to and from work? - Answer-My goals for the day, what needs to get done and the best way to accomplish this. Would you rather work as a team or independently? - Answer-I would much rather work as a team. When you have a combination of ideas and strengths and talents you can produce something much greater than you can produce alone. Tell me about a time you quit something - Answer-When I was a Junior in highschool I did not play basketball that year because the coach would not allow me to go on college visits for softball and I could not fully commit to this leadership style. Are you a critical thinker or do you use creativity/ intuition to make decisions? - Answer-I would say i am definitely more of a critical thinker. When a situation is put in front of me I look at it from a numbers and logistic point of view to make a final decision. Tell me about a stressful situation at a previous job and how did you handle it? - Answer-When i was working for the media department at my college we were in charge of posting social media updates mid game with pictures that I was taking. When I got to the field we realized with all of the fans there was no cell service and we had to come up with a new way to get the photos to the press box so I would run up after every quarter and manually transfer the pictures over so we could keep these posts up and running without delay. Would you rather be a leader of a team or part of a team? - Answer-I would say I would definitely rather be a leader. Most of the time I like to take initiative to come up with a goal and a plan to achieve it. I have taken on a leadership role my entire life on all of my sports teams. Analyze the entire situation, pinpoint the problem 2. Come up with solutions, pros and cons to each solution 3. decide the best solution and then plan a way to actually execute this smoothly Are you a positive person? How are you positive? - Answer-I am definitely a positive person. My personality is to always look at the positives in every situation, even if it seems nearly impossible to find one. The people who spend a lot of time around me would say that I am constantly encouraging and emphasizing positives, especially in softball. I learned to do this really well when I had to sit out my sophomore season after my labrum surgery. Do you out perform your co-workers? - Answer-Although I have not yet been in a specific situation where performance among coworkers can be measured, I can definitely say that I out perform my peers. My entire life I have always not only done what has expected of myself and the people around me, but I have taken that a step further and excelled when others are content. Give an example of when you were the "best" - Answer-My Freshman year in the GMAC tournament I allowed 0 earned runs and earned conference pitcher of the week that week. Not only will my skills and knowledge benefit myself and my family but also will help the community around me. They set the tone for those who report to them while at the same time allowing me to achieve success without being micromanaged. Someone who is confident in their direction and has trust in me. How do you balance a heavy workload? - Answer-Through going to a prestigious university and being a college athlete, I have learned the best strategies for balancing a heavy workload. Before the week begins, I lay out my priorities and set aside time for each thing that needs to get done. I have found the best way to do this is by making a checklist each day and not relaxing until all of those things have been done.Describe your time management skills - Answer-My time management skills are mainly about focusing on being productive when I have the opportunity. Before I can relax for the day, I make sure I have set aside an allotted time for me to get my work done so it can keep my priorities straight and not feel too overwhelmed on a certain day. It is important that you read the context of the situation and change your communication/leadership style accordingly. Do you follow through? - Answer-Yes. I am a very task orientated person so when I start something, I must follow through with it and complete it to be satisfied. It is important to me that I follow through with things so that I can be both respected and trusted. How do you feel when you make a promise and then break it? - Answer-When i break a promise i feel extremely disappointed in myself. I think it is very important to keep your word so when I do not do that it really bothers me. When I break a promise I find out why and then take every possible step to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Do people ever come to you for answers? - Answer-Yes, people often come to me for answers. Once you have a long term goal, it is good to help set short term goals to help you achieve it. Would you rather have acquaintances in a successful company or develop great relationships in a struggling company? - Answer-I would rather develop great relationships in a struggling company. If you have great relationships, that is the basis for a good company because everything else can build off of that. The company has potential to be something even greater. It will be easier to get everyone on board to achieve a common goal. Do you trust people first or do you gradually earn their trust? - Answer-I gradually earn peoples trust. Once someone shows me that they work hard and they follow through then I believe that they have earned my trust. I believe trust is earned not given. What is the most important thing that creates relationships in organizations? - Answer-I believe that it is a mix of both accountability and trust. These things are both the most essential pieces to building relationships and good culture within an organization. Your workers will work hard, do what they say, and everyone can trust each other to put their best foot forward. When someone doesnt pull their weight in a team, how do you respond? - Answer-I would make sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and hold them accountable for them. On a team everyones voice should be heard all the time because that is what makes the dynamic so special and so successful. I would make sure that not only mine but everyones voices are heard.
