Explain the reasons for choosing the method of data collection for a selected
product/service
Introduction
In this assignment it would be analysed the reasons why i have conducted the market
research in the way i have done it.In other words it would be written down the reasons why i
chose to collect primary research data by using quassionarries rather than interviews or any
other type of primary research.Therefore it would be represented the similarities and
differences between different methods of primary and secondary research methods.
Questionnaire - primary research
A questionnaire is a fixed data designed by asking individuals questions either in person, on
paper, by phone or on-line.
Therefore i had chosen to conduct a questionnaire as a method of my primary research due
to the fact that is one of the best way to maximize the outcome and get the best answers
possible.Furthermore ,one of the most important reason why i chose this method of primary
research is because the quascionarries provides a variety of options that can increase the
input of the attendee’s answers.
To summarise my reasons of my decision is because:
- Through conducting a questionnaires the data can be collected in a more efficient
way which means that the effort put ,into gathering those answers from those 20
attendees that i asked them to take part in my market research , is much less in
comparison to other types of primary research such as focus groups which is time
consuming , less communication involved and involves more resources in it .Same
as conducting an interview which also involves lots of time and resources.
- Through conducting a questionnaires the productivity is worked according to my
speed .Therefore this means that the speed of conducting/ passing out the
questionnaires to my respondents is much quicker in comparison to other primary
research methods.Therefore the questionnaires can be distributed by myself directly
to the respondents which shows higher gradient of getting valid and accurate data.
- Through conducting a questionnaires i can get both qualitative and quantitative
research.This means that i would be able to collect a higher amount of responses in
a short period of time which links straight to the quantitative research.Furthermore i
can get qualitative data by distributing personally the questionnaires where i would
make sure that the candidates don't mislead and give false representation by
observing the way they are filling out the questions
- Through conducting a questionnaires is much easier and simple than other forms of
primary research methods due to the fact that is easy for the respondent to fill out the
form as the questions and instructions are very clear and
