Values - ANSWER Values are the center of a person's character. Values are ideas about the worth or importance of people concepts, or things. An individuals ability to survive stressful conditions is by personal values +obtained through the influence of our parents, teachers, and peers with earlier experiences establish our early attitudes +So great that people will fight, and sometimes die for +Leaders are able to predict and influence behavior of Marines by understanding personal values Attitudes - ANSWER come from early experiences in society, but are not as deeply held as values Behaviors - ANSWER the outward manifestation of either attitudes or values. It is the way they act, dress, and speak. Influence of values is so great that people will fight, sometimes die for. Five Catagories of Values - ANSWER Political values, social values, personal values, economic values, religious values Character - ANSWER Defined by the commitment to an admirable set of values, and the courage to manifest those values in ones life. What are the ways in which you influence your Marines's beliefs and values? - ANSWER Set the example, reward behaviors that support military values, plan and conduct tough realistic training. Value Conflicts - ANSWER Exists when individual values and attitudes differ from those of the leader or the Marine Corps to the extent that it affects performance +Adversely affect mission accomplishment, become disciplinary problems, require a great deal of leaders time, undermine unit cohesion.
