Mutaton.
Higher amounts of the protein by gene amplifcaton.
Translocaton.
- Other regulaton -- overexpression.
- Fusion protein.
In many cases: viruses (bijv. HPV → baarmoederhalskanker)
From virus to cancer
Integrates genetc material in host cell’s DNA
Can result in translocaton and copy of DNA sequences of the host when “jumping out” of the
DNA and re-infectng
Can transform proto-oncogens into oncogenes, and in oncogenic fusion genes
Not with a purpose, but as a side efect – collateral damage
Retrovirus vs virus: retrovirus heef RNA en geen DNA. Door Reverse transcirptase kan het retrovirus
van het RNA, cDNA maken.
