Employment and insuranne law – This is comprised of laws and limitations to secure
the relationship between employer, employee and the government. To guarantee that
there is a right workplace for all individuals included.
The employers in Stockport College are in responsible of the health and safety of their
staff and students while they are at the college for work or study. The employees or the
students in the college might be harmed at work or during their study (students), or the
previous staff, might be sick because of their work while they was working in the college
before. They may attempt to claim compensation from the college if they thought that
college is the responsible. The Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969
guarantees that Stockport College have a minimum level of insurance to cover against
any such claims.
Employers’ liability insurance will help the college to cover the cost of compensation for
its staff and students' damage or sickness whether they are caused in the college or
outside. In any case, any damages and sickness identifying with machines that happen
while college's employees are working might be covered individually by the college's
machines insurance.
Public liability insurance is not the same as the other liability insurances. It enable the
college to cover claims made against the college by public (such us the customer who
come from outside the college) or different business, but it's not for claims by the staff or
the students.
While Public liability insurance in general is voluntary and the employers' liability
insurance is forced for the college to take a part to be responsible about it. The college
can be fned if it didn't take the employers' liability insurance police which follow the low.
