Disaster Recovery Plan
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) defines a disaster as a serious disruption to the functioning of a community that exceeds its capacity to manage using the community’s resources. Disasters can be as a result of natural, human, technological hazards, and diverse factors that impact the degree of exposure and vulnerability of a group/community (IFRC, 2022). The importance of a robust community discovery plan can be deduced from the definition of a disaster. A community disaster recovery plan is important in lessening the damage or disruption and in stimulating recovery in the event of a disaster that critically impacts community systems.
