Wk. 3 Discussion: Interaction Between Nurse Informaticists and Other Specialists.
One of the professionals that cannot operate without an approach of collaboration in nursing. To
ensure better services are delivered, all nurses must work in the same direction with technology
specialists and nursing informatics to make sure services are delivered smoothly (McGonigle &
Mastrian, 2017). When the patient attends to the health care facility, they are met by receptionist
who are experts in medical records and direct patients to the next step after recording their
details. The patient is directed to the triage, where a nurse assesses them to submit their various
problems, including patient treatment urgency.
Issues such as blood pressure, sugar levels and BMI are very significant and are monitored
within the triage before the doctor attends the patient. The same results can be shown in the
patient's records if the recording system is automated, where they are communicated directly to
the doctor scheduled on that day. The doctor of the day recommends the medication after
examining the patient, ward admission or further tests. A nurse may take over at this stage in case
of wound dressing or admission according to the doctor's directions. This is a procedure
performed by patients daily and requires the collaboration of experts between nurses and other
specialists to perform services as required.
Strategy issues on how to improve the interactions and technology are effective because it
eliminates the unnecessary delays and speeds up the processes, and may contribute to worst
cases leading to loss of lives (Macieria et al. 2017). In the admission to triage and doctor’s
consultation room, there is an effective online transmission of patient data, eliminating delays,
cost reduction, and smooth delivery of health care services.
