Cells are surrounded by a phospholipid and protein
membrane. All eukaryotic cells also contain membrane
bound organelles, in their cytoplasm. Membranes allow
for a larger surface area for enzymes to attach to as well
as keeping potently harmful chemicals out of the
cytoplasm.
A plant cell contains a vacuole, cell wall, chloroplasts and
a plasmodesma which animal cells do not have. An
animal cell is around 10-30 um or 0.001 -0.003 mm long.
whereas a plant cell can be anywhere from 10-100 um or
0.001-0.01 mm long.

The nucleus is made up of 4 different elements. These
are; chromatin, nucleolus, nucleopore and nuclear
envelope.
Mitochondria has 2 membranes separated by inter-
membrane fluid of which the inner membrane folds in to
form cristae. Inside the mitochondria there is a matrix
containing lipids and proteins. This is where respiration
takes place. Mitochondria also contains a circle of DNA
and some 70s ribosomes to complete its own protein
