Development planning for a career in business
Introductonn
In this task I will be evaluatnn my own development of transferable business skills.
My transferable tarnet was to improve my problem solvinn skills. To accomplish this
tarnet I have none online to fnd situatons / scenarios that may occur in real life. I
have than used my own initatve to try and solve the problem. Another method I
used was to net a few helpers to role play a real life situaton where I would have to
step in a try to handle it accordinn to what I thounht would be the best soluton. I
practse these once every week so that I would be able to learn how to deal with any
situatons thrown at me.
Another transferable business skill I have improved on was speakinn. To meet this
tarnet I have joined a speech club where I had to come up with my own speech on a
topic of my choice and read it aloud to my fellow audience. This has not only helped
on how to pronounce words accurately and precisely but I have also nained
confdence to speak out loud to audiences. This relates back to my career plan
because in order to become a teacher I will need to stand in front of a class to deliver
my lesson. This club only was only for a short period of tme therefore I am not able
to practse my speakinn as much as I would like. Also due to havinn a lot of
coursework and meetnn deadline date I am not able to search for another club that
will help with my speakinn. Instead I am readinn throunh the dictonary to learn and
pick up new words and vocabulary.
In additon writnn was another transferable skill that I wanted to improve. I have
done this the same way as speakinn. Once I learnt a new word I would put it to
practse by writnn it out in a sentence so that it makes sense also I check if I have
spelt the word rinht. I make sure that the writnn is neat and tdy so that it is
understandable. I try and do it at least twice a week.
my transferable skill to improve tme mananement needs pronressinn because
althounh I have made a routne to follow; where I wrote down what tasks and
assinnments I need to have completed by a certain deadline I have not been able to
meet it. Some of the work I hand in is over the deadline. However althounh I do not
hand it in on tme it I also do not nenlect it as I nive it in the followinn week.
Followinn the routne is difcult for me but it also helps me because it constantly
reminds me to do my task.
Conclusion: in this task I have evaluated my development of transferable business
skills.
