Deze samenvatting bestaat uit de verplichte literatuur van blok 2B Kwaliteit van zorg. Aan de hand
van de onderwerpen uit de toets matrijs heb ik deze literatuur uitgewerkt, aangevuld met
aantekeningen uit de lessen en heb ik de wekelijkse leerdoelen hiernaast gehouden.

, Model van Hofstede

Objective for nurses:
The nurse can look at the behaviour of the patient within a cultural context. It is connected to
collective mental programming.




Power distance:
- The way in which less powerful members of institutions, accept the unequal division of
power.

Individuality:
− A society is individualistic if the connection between individuals is weak. People take care of
themselves.
− A society is collectivistic if individuals spend their entire lives in a strong group. They must
remain loyal to their group.

Masculinity vs. Femininity:
− A society is masculin if sex roles are clearly separated.
− Masculin society: Men are: agressive, strong, material, succesful. Woman are: humble, soft,
look at the quality of life.
− Feminin society: equal rights for woman, or a society where woman work etc.

Tolerance of uncertainty:
− The way in which members of a culture feel threatened by uncertainty or unknown situations
and have created beleifs and institutions that try to avoid these .

Long term vs. Short term:
− People act according to the results they have in mind (long or short-term results)
− Pragmatism: How the society maintain its own past while dealing with the challenges of the
present and the future

Indulgence vs. Restraint:
− Society that allow for relatively free gratifications of basic and natural needs to drive life and
have fun.
− The extend to which people try to control their desires and impulses
