ICT INTEGRATION IN THE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS STUDENTS

This study examines integration of information and communication technology (ICTs) in basic science teaching in some selected junior secondary schools in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State. Five junior secondary schools were used for this study where a total number of two hundred and fifty respondents (50 teachers and 200 students) which constitute the sample for this study. The instrument used for data collection was an adopted questionnaire of four sections is the only instrument for data collection. The data generated with the instrument were analyzed using frequency count, simple percentage to answer all the research questions raised in this study. The finding from the study revealed that:  Most of the respondents has a good profile that qualify them for assessing integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) in basic science teaching.  The students perceived that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is not well integrated in the teaching and learning of basic science.  The teachers perceived that Information and Communication Technology (ICT)is well integrated in the teaching and learning of basic science.
