2. In your own words, define the lamina propria. (1 marks)
Lamina propria is a connective tissue layers under the epithelial layer. The lamina propria is made up of
type 3 collagens where it is responsible for structural supports, while carrying on(containing) immune
cells and lymphatic tissues. It will help to maintain the structure as well as nutrient supply (through
blood vessels). It will also be responsible for immune response.
3. Complete the following chart, indicating one main function for each fiber type. (1.5 marks)
