is attributable to pollution.

• Zeer dichte mist over heel België
• In de Meuse Vallei:
o 10 keer meer doden dan gewoonlijk
o Ademhalingssymptomen
• What was the cause of symptoms and death?
o Industrie stoot gassen, roken en stof uit
o SO2: concentratie was hoog genoeg om symptomen en doden te
verklaren
• Why the Meuse Valley?
o => Meteorologische omstandigheden:
▪ Anticycloon boven de vallei (er ontstaat inversie, vervuiling
kan niet weg)
▪ Zeer zwakke wind (geen verdunning)
