Abortion Right
The right to security of person. The judges held that the doctors did not violate any law because the codes that declared abortion as a criminal offence violate the women right to the security of persons. Health risks associated with pregnancy were also considered in this case where the life of the mother could be at risk due to the pregnancy. The constitution has the right to protect its citizen’s life through the bill of rights which states that every individual has the right to life. In the case of pregnancy, the mother’s life could be at great risk and the committee that is in charge of imposing the criminal code against abortion may overlook the health risk and restrict the mother from conducting an abortion.
