What are the four most common types of X-rays used in a dental office? -
ANSWERPanoramic Film aka Pano or Panorex
Full Mouth PA Series aka Full mouth series or FMS
Intraoral Periapical Aka PA
Bitewings aka BWX or BWs

Intraoral Periapical films aka PA - ANSWERShows one or two teeth up close from the
crown to the apex. Its a detailed view of the tooth and supporting structures.

Bitewing film aka BWX or BWs - ANSWERShows upper and lower molars as the patient
is biting. It allows doctors to see interproximal(between the teeth) spaces. Performed as
part of the FMS or every six months.
