Where the groundwater bubbles or flows out of cracks in the rocks or the water table meets the surface. What is a well? A drilled structure made by man to obtain groundwater from an aquifer. What is an artesian well? An artesian well in which the water rises because of pressure in the aquifer since the aquifer is between two impermeable layers.
