“Home Alone: A christmas classic”
Home Alone is a 1990 American comedy film written and produced by John Hughes
and directed by Chris Columbus. The filmstar Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister,
a young boy who is accidentally left behind when his family goes on Christmas
vacation.
Story
The film is a heartwarming and hilarious story about a boy who must fend for himself
and protect his home from burglars. The comedic timing of the actors, particularly
Macaulay Culkin, is spot on and the story is both relatable and timeless. The film's
message of the importance of family is woven seamlessly into the plot, making it a
perfect holiday movie.
Visuals and sounds
The film's visuals are also noteworthy, with McCallister's home and the surrounding
neighborhood being depicted in a way that feels both warm and inviting, while also
adding to the comedic elements of the film. The film's soundtrack, featuring music by
John Williams, is also a standout feature, adding to the overall charm of the film.
Realism
The only downside to the movie is the lack of realism in it.
First of all, how can you forget the most important thing if you go on holiday?
Nobody forgets their own kids. And how do you notice it that late? Most parents are
thinking about their kids.
Second of all, the traps. The traps are way too easy to notice and can be easily
avoided. Some traps are way too simple and aren’t even effective, like the toy cars at
the bottom of the stairs, while some other traps can be really harmful and can maybe
kill someone, like the hot door handle or the falling iron.
And third of all, the robbers. The robbers are not at all like they are in the real world.
The robbers in the movie are dumb and can’t really think very well.
Robbers in the real world are way more dangerous and some of them have weapons
like guns and knives. I know that it's a family movie and it’s supposed to be fun but it
isn’t like the real world.
Conclusion
Despite the lack of realism, this is one of the best Christmas movies with its
heartwarming story and comedy. This movie is a classic family movie for Chrismas.
And the good visuals and sounds make the movie even better than it already is.
And if you haven’t watched this movie yet, you definitely should.
Therefore I give the movie 4 out of 5 stars.
