Founding and Early Expansion (late 13th
century): The Majapahit Empire is believed to have been
founded in the late 13th century, around 1293, by Raden
Wijaya. It emerged in the wake of the collapse of the Srivijaya
Empire.
Hayam Wuruk's Reign (1350–1389): Under the rule of
Hayam Wuruk and his prime minister Gajah Mada, the
Majapahit Empire reached its zenith in the 14th century. It
became a powerful maritime and commercial empire,
controlling trade routes in the region.
