Inleiding

‘Safe food through safe feed’: dieren veilig voederen zodat het voedsel dat we van dieren
halen ook veilig voor consumptie zal zijn

DMO: dierenarts met opdracht, karkassen in slachthuizen beoordelen
Zoönose: ziektes die van dieren kunnen overgaan op de mens
FAVV: federaal agentschap voor voedselveiligheid

Er is zo’n intensieve veehouderij de laatste jaren, dus de impact daarvan kan immens zijn op
de volksgezondheid, als gecontamineerd voer op grote schaal gedistribueerd wordt kan dit
voor een epidemie zorgen ook onder mensen en voor een verlies aan voedsel en inkomsten
zorgen, veel virussen worden internationaal overgebracht door de grootschalige productie

Epidemiologische bewaking: opvolgen van ziektes die bij dieren voorkomen die enorme
economische schade kunnen veroorzaken in onze voedsel- en landbouwsector
Vb.: varkenspest, klauwzeer, hondsdolheid, corona, rundertuberculose
