TCOLE JAILER Exam Review 2023 Commitment - ANS-An order signed by magistrate directing sheriff to receive and place in jail the person so committed Capias - ANS-A _____ is a writ issued by the court or clerk, and directed "To any peace officer of the State of Texas", commanding him to arrest a person accused of an offense and bring him before that court immediately, or on a day or at a term stated in the writ. Refusing to Execute Writ - ANS-Any officer to whom a writ of habeas corpus, or other writ, warrant or process authorized by this Chapter shall be directed, delivered or tendered, who refuses to execute the same according to his directions, or who wantonly delays the service or execution of the same, shall be liable to fine as for contempt of court.
