Evolution of use
MRP I = materials requirements planning only components/materials (you need)
MRP II = manufacturing resources planning materials + capacity (planning and building)
ERP I = enterprise resources planning materials + capacity + administration + overhead
ERP II = extended ERP exchange with partners + CLOUD
Purpose of ERP
Supports (mostly) simple and manageable business processes
