CLABSIs are critical to investigate because I believe that the number of instances in our hospital can not only be decreased but can be prevented almost entirely. Nurses have been educated on the possible causes as well as signs and symptoms of various HAI’s, including CLABSIs, and we can and need to be more proactive in our evaluations and treatment plans for those patients with central lines.
