Briefly explain why you find this idea important and valuable. What I consider the most valuable/important idea in the section was when the authors said that “Our goal is to analyze exactly what people’s claims are and the reasons they use to establish them as worthy of acceptance” (Facione & Gittens, 2016). I find this idea valuable because before we can deny a person’s clams as unworthy, we need to really think about what they claim to be true in a deeper and unbiased manner. Many times, we tend to dismiss people and the way that they think because we are only focused on what we believe to be right. Doing that can make one to be selfish, and even somewhat ignorant. When we have an open mind, we tend to be able to understand one another’s way of thinking better.  Critical Thinking In Chapter 5, the section "Making Arguments" states: "In some ways applying our core critical thinking skills to analysis can be more difficult than offering an evaluative opinion. Analysis, like interpretation, is understanding at a deep level” (p. 89) What concepts discussed in Chapter 4 might make analysis of a statement difficult – and why? The concepts discussed in Chapter 4 that might make a statement analysis difficult are vagueness and Ambiguity. They both can cause misunderstanding in communication and context.
