What is Developmentally Appropriate Practice and How Does It Apply to Children (Birth - Age 8)? - ANSWER-Every day, whether they know it or not, caregivers make important decisions that can enhance or hinder the growth and development of children. Developmentally Appropriate Practice focuses on children birth to eight years old and is made up of three principle components: - ANSWER-age appropriateness, individual appropriateness, and social/cultural appropriateness. Developmentally Appropriate Practice, or DAP, is a concept developed by - ANSWER-the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It stems from years of good research in early childhood.
