powerful influence on organisations.
In the case study, this is evident when Woolworths introduced a new grey water safe and
quick rinse bath range to help customers save water at home during the time South Africa
was experiencing a major water crisis.
The second variable is ‘radical transformation of the world of work.’
Radical transformation of the world of work is all about organisations moving from focusing
on reducing defects and streamlining business processes to focusing on continuous radical
change.
This variable is evident in the case study when the water crisis made Woolworths to envoke
an emergency task force which dealt with the water conservation project during the 2018
major water crisis. This task force was introduced because of the water crisis.
Another variable evident is ‘the growing importance of intellectual capital and learning’
This is defined as the sum and synergy of knowledge, relationships, experience, discoveries,
processes, innovations, market presence and influence of an organization on the
community.
This is seen in the case study when Woolworths introduced water-wise displays at the end
of food aisles, enabling customers to view all products which would help them save water.
This was innovative and had a good influence and impact on the customers and community
at large.
