How does Thorpe Park use Marketing Techniques and how is it similar or different to
Virgin Media?

The companies I will be comparing will be Thorpe Park and Virgin Media. I will be
comparing the marketing techniques that they use

How does Thorpe Park and Virgin Media use Product Development?

Thorpe Park uses Product development to come of up with new ideas for products or services
that they can provide to their customers. They do this so that they are able to make more
money and so that it could increase customer loyalty if they satisfy their customers wants.
Virgin Media do this similarly as they uses product development to come of up with new
ideas on products or services that they can provide to their consumers. One example of a new
idea that Virgin Media have used is giving the customers unlimited calls and texts to other
Virgin Media phones which is a part of product development as well as the product causing
people to buy Virgin Media phone contracts. Virgin Media and Thorpe Park use this in the
same way. The reason why Thorpe Park use product development is because they want their
company to grow, in order for their company to grow, they need to make new products so
that they can have more customers, and this is the same reason why Virgin Media use
Product Development.

How does Thorpe Park and Virgin use Market Penetration?

Thorpe Park uses Market Penetration to create deals for certain products or for people who
are buying multiple products. For example, if a person was to buy 10 tickets at Thorpe Park,
that person would get a certain discount on the tickets because they have spent a lot of money
on tickets. Virgin Media do this similarly where they use market penetration to create deals
for certain products or for people who are buying multiple products. For example; if someone
was to buy 4 mobile phone contracts they would get it cheaper than a person who was buying
only one phone contract. This is what a lot of companies do so that people buy more
products. Virgin Media would use market penetration so that their customers will buy more
products allowing them to make a higher profit. Thorpe Park do this so that it would convince
people from all around the UK to come to their theme park.
