All her students are required to complete these assessment tasks in preparation for the quarterly, formal examinations and these assessment tasks have proven to be very helpful to the learners, including those with learning difficulties. Scenario B. Mr Japhta is one of the foundation phase teachers at Hlakula school. Success of each learner is paramount in this school and Mr Japhta is tasked with screening and identifying learners with learning challenges at the beginning of each school year. He prepares grade one learners’ assessment activities to identify those with learning barriers so that they will be supported accordingly. These assessment activities are informal, and the results thereof are used to draft individual support plans for those who have been identified to be in need of extra specific support. 1.1 In which scenario is assessment for inclusivity practised? When he finished this exercise, INC3701/103/2023 8 he went to the Head of the Department and said, “Madam, I have diagnosed a learner with dyslexia, and I recommend that he should be referred to a special school”. 2.1 Identify three cardinal mistakes that Timothy made in his attempt to assist learners with learning disabilities and give reasons why you think these were mistakes that Timothy needs to avoid in future.
